A starling piece of news that pricked my mind to consider this topic:
"Ex-Miss Argentina dies after cosmetic surgery"
Only you can know what you think is right for you, but the most important thing is not to rush into cosmetic surgery. Think carefully about why you want it and what you realistically expect it to do for you. Having a breast enlargement or a face-lift may make you feel better, but it's unlikely to get you the job of your dreams.
If you are considering cosmetic surgery, you must be honest with yourself. Why do you want surgery and what do you expect surgery to do for you?
Cosmetic surgery can help improve your appearance, but it's not for everyone. Understand the benefits, risks and limitations to make the best choice for you.
Reshaping your body
Cosmetic surgery, also referred to as plastic surgery, aims to change your appearance by altering parts of your body that function normally but whose appearance makes you unhappy. This differs from reconstructive surgery, which can improve the appearance and function of body parts affected by congenital defects, injuries and diseases such as cancer.
Cosmetic surgery offers choices for making changes in your physical appearance. It reshapes normal body structures, changes appearance and, often, improves self-esteem.
Factors to consider
When deciding for or against cosmetic surgery, consider the following:
**Your expectations: Anticipate improvement, not perfection. **Time and expense:Cosmetic surgery isn't covered by most health insurance.
**Potential risks:You must be comfortable with the fact that cosmetic surgery, like any surgery, can be a risk to your health and that the results may not be what you anticipate.
isn't it sad that we can’t accept ourselves for who we are? It’s society's obsession with looks that makes these women (and some men) take such drastic steps. There are certain standards to beauty; flowing silky shiny hair, doe eyes, aquiline nose, pouty lips, tiny waists and endless legs. Every woman aspires to have these looks, even though they may have the most beguiling smile, head full of exquisite neat curls. They find it hard to accept themselves as beautiful because they are not what the world considers beautiful.
What is even more depressing is the fact that even those who meet the accepted standards of beauty are always insecure about their great looks. A lot of incredibly good looking people I know are always obsessed with some imagined flaw or the other. Is there is anybody in the world who considers himself or herself perfectly beautiful??????

You wrote "A lot of incredibly good looking people I know...", but again "good-looking" is a relative term! And for perfectionists its an elusive one too!
plz remove word verification if u want ppl to comment!!
@tirtha i want to change nothing!!i am absolutely ok in every respect!i hv dat confidence dear!!!
@srabani and i thot showing of confidence in oneself is termed as overconfidence!! lol ;)
I wanted to add to what i commented b4... ppl still vry much go weak in their knees on others' external appearances rather than knowing the person inside out.. till ppl dont realise that looks r deceptive and come with a short expiry period these ppl going for cosmetic changes will hv to strive hard to live up to those ppl's expectations and such practises will never cease!! I hope i made myself clear!!
yup this write up is dedicated for those people nly,who fall prey to mere external appearances!!!
